October knew that tonight would be the perfect night to really let loose and go swimming. The midnight air was warm, soft and above all calming. She quickly slipped on a plain white bikini and her white summer dress over it and walked outside. Even though it was fall it was still pretty warm in the season. Clearly due to global warming. As fast as she could she biked all the way to the beach from her apartment.
The streets were dead silent, probably due to the time and such. Which was something she did expect from where she lived since it was known to have a few "evil people" residing there. A small black cat was laying down on top of a large brick wall basking in the moonlight. October giggled at the sight since it looked like it was very much so enjoying itself as well as the moonlight. She kept on moving in hopes she would reach the beach before daybreak.
It didn't take her too long to get to the south beach. October had to admit that the sand was rather cold for her feet so she walked toward a group of large boulders sitting near the edge of a cliff. She quickly and quietly hopped on top of the one closer to the water and low enough for her to dip her feet in. Slipping off the white dress october folded it up and placed it on the higher rock away from the water. With one deep breath October's soft, white wings appeared from out of her back.
October dipped her feet into the cool waters and let out a happy sigh. "This feels nice," she said out loud to herself. A soft breeze passed her causing her hair to move into almost every direction. October could only hear the soft whispers of the wind and water crashing onto the short as well as the occasional chirping of crickets in the distance. The air tastes of salt and seaweed, but it didn't really bother october much.
It was in a way comforting. Although it did bring back a few memories of when she was younger. When her father would take her and her sister to the beach to play in it's cold waters on a hot summer day. October flinched at the image appearing in her mind over and over again. But instead of frowning a smile grew on her lips as she remembered her sister's voice for the first time in a long time.
It made her feel like Emily was still there with her. Telling her not to be so uptight and serious. She laughed at the little voice in her head that sounded like Emily asking her when she's ever going to get a boyfriend. But of course during that time Emily was with Renji. The smile quickly disappeared from her lips as she stood up on the large rock. October wanted to jump into the freezing waters, to forget her past, to make all the hurt go away. To become, numb.
