Zev opened the door to the Magical Menagerie; the bell chimed merrily upon his entrance. The creatures that had been sitting so stoicly immediately perked up as if on a timer. "Good morning." he smiled at his furry, scaley, slimey, and feathery companions. He knew some people thought it was silly to talk to animals that 'couldn't respond', but Zev new better. Creatures did reply, you just had to have the will to listen. They had their own language, a beautiful foreign language that most didn't bother with.
Zev walked about the shop, checking to see that everything and everyone was in order. All the critters were tucked away in their respective cages...all seemed to be quite well. He smiled, making his way back to the storage room to get out some food. He brought out various tins and bags of food, filling each creatures dish. Once he'd made his rounds he checked to see that everybody had water.
A light sigh escaped his lips--it was definitely not the busy season. Each fall when the first years were preparing to go to school, Zev was always moving around--helping each witch and wizard find the perfect companion. He had a knack for pairing animals with humans, often finding the perfect match for them. Zev had spent a lot of time with each creature in the shop, knowing their exact personality--he had little nicknames for each and was always a little sad to see them go--but happy, as well.
Zev moved to his desk, plopping down lazily on his chair and closing his eyes. A small smile found its way on his lips when he felt the familiar little feet on his ankle. Zev looked own to see his chubby rat, Zero, shimmying up his leg. He grasped her around her plump waist and sat her on his shoulder. She immediately began to bathe his ear in swift licks. He laughed softly and waved her off a little, petting her head gently while he waited for something to do. He had already organized the storage room several times these past couple of months and cleaned the store multiple times...he wished one of his friends would stop by and visit--or the odd customer would decide they needed a new cat.

October walked through tha large ally, taking cautions steps, as though the floor would crumble under her. It had been ages since she came here for just a look around. There were a few witches and wizards going from shop to shop, but not very many. October could see a group of teens dressed in hogwarts uniforms looking at the latest broom models. Remebering a time when she used to be just like them, always looking at the latest brooms, wands, pets, fashion. It all somehow facinated her in a way. The bright colors, she could feel magic all around her, comforting her in a way. On the other side of the alley she could see older witches looking at craft supplies and laughing amongst themselfs.
October laughed quietly to herself and kept on walking untill she saw a large looking pet shop. She loves animals so of course she went in to take a look around. Inside she saw many, many, many animals, most quiet but she could hear a few birds making a bit of noise. She wished that sometimes she could understand the secret languages of the birds, so that she too could learn their secrets and such. October saw a few cats in a large cage near the front. They were all play fighting and messing with small toys. Rats were in smaller cages doing nothing but sleep and eat the food in their small bowl. To the otherside were a few pet accesories as well as rabbits of all different shapes and sizes as well as a few large owls sitting in elegant looking hanging cages.
October smiled at it all. She hadn't seen so many animals since she left home. Turning around she pulled an ungraceful move, tripped the fenn on her butt. And thats when she noticed Zev sitting at a arge desk. How she hadn't seen him before was beyond her. "oww," she said quietly to herself as she trued to get up off the floor. When october fell it was like she was on roller blades trying to get and up off a floor covered in oil. She griped onto the large desk where Zev was sitting and tried to use it as a balance so she could stand. But clearly her shoes didn't want to cooperate with her and they twisted on her feet causing her to slip and fall once more. Even though october was a vampire she never was all too graceful. Sitting on defeat october let out a small sigh as she rubbed her sore lower back. "Hey Zev, hows it going?"

Upon her entrance, Zev's eyes had lightened...if that was possible. The strange sea-green orbs always seemed to be bright with intense coloration and mirth. A smile had stretched warmly across his features, eyes squinting up in utter delight. "Toby, what are you doing here?" he tilted his head in inquiry and was about to stand to greet her when he watched her trip and plop down on the floor before him.
Zev, placing his hands on the edge of the desk, swung his legs over the side so that he was kneeling beside her after she had given up on standing. Noticing that she was no worse for the wear, he allowed a small chuckle to escape him. "Gee, you sure know how to make an entrance."
He reached foreword with a genuinely kind smile--the only kind Zev really knew how to give. He held his hand out for her grasping pleasures, "Let me help you up." he coaxed. "I guess I mopped the floors a little too well..." he admitted quietly, "I'm sorry."
It was like Zev to blame himself for the misfortune of others. He was warm on the outside and inside, a truly compassionate being. "Do you need to go to Saint Mungo's?" he inquired, quirking a brow in concern. The boy was no Mediwizard, and he wanted to make sure she'd always be able to walk. He knew it was just a little fall, but the floor was hard and he wanted to make sure that absolutely nothing was wrong.

"Gee, you sure know how to make an entrance."
October looked at him and smiled; it was rather true. October always had the most grand entrances of them all, granted she usually tripped, but who really cares. "Well, yea it is me," said October with a smile on her face. She could tell Zev's eyes were more brilliant this evening and it made her feel a bit better. She just sat there for a moment with her eyes too the floor thinking about random things while trying to get the fact that she was in pain off her mind. "Let me help you up. I guess I mopped the floors a little too well...I'm sorry."October stared at his hand a blinked for a moment. She could see the blood rush through his vains in his wrist and she bit her tong. "It's not your fault, really it isn't." It was true it really wasn't Zev's fault at all, she was just one of the most clumsy people you'll ever meet. Even for a vampire she wasn't all too graceful, but she tried her best to keep her balance during the day. "I'm just naturally clumsy, I think I get it from my mother," said October as she started to laugh for a moment. Then she felt her heart crack a little inside; talking about her mother was something she tried to avoid the most. "Do you need to go to Saint Mungo's?"October sat in silence for a moment the she started to giggle quietly to herself. "No, no, I'll be fine," she said as she grabbed onto his hand and pulled herself up. Brushing off her dress lightly she sat up on the desk and smiled at him. "So this is where you work huh?" She took a good look around the store from where she was sitting. She could smell all the animals and such, it was rather fun being there. Although she wasn't sure why since all she really was doing was sitting down. "It's really kewl here."[/blockquote][/blockquote]
