Adam didn't have a proper office at Gringotts and that was blessing. He didn't want any of his superiors thinking that he enjoyed doing desk work because that could possibly be one of the things he hated more in his life. Of course, he had known when training to become a curse-breaker that it wasn't always going to be traveling and waving a wand and that paperwork periods would have to come every once in a while. But so far the young man had been able to keep it to a minimum, only having to spit out a report every six months or so. In fact, ever since his long-year internship which had concluded five years ago, there wasn't much time to be spent in the actual bank. None if it wasn't for the occasional meeting or file work, like now.
Just as he finished scribbling the last word of his report, Adam began standing up from his place in the wooden chair and as he looked up at the clock on the wall, he dotted the sentence, rolled the long piece of parchment and headed over to the file cabinet. The moment he approached, the third drawer slid open violently. They were charmed that way. Although Adam was already used to them by now it didn't cease to scare the hell out of him every time and let out a sigh of relief whenever he managed to calculate the right distance that prevented him from being hit in the stomach. In went the document and the drawer shut itself giving Adam just enough time to remove his hand. Sometimes he believed they were just testing the employees' reflexes.
With a swift movement he grabbed his jacket from the coat rack by the door and left the room, pulling the door behind him and making a loud noise when it closed. A pair of sullen looking goblins who were just walking down the stone hall at that moment gave him disapproving looks. On top of generally disliking wizards, they seemed to hate more the ones that actually worked for the bank. Adam was used to it by now and merely gave them both a nod over his shoulder in a manner of greeting before hurrying down the hall and into the the main reception. No other goblin made eye contact with him and whistling nonchalantly as he put on his coat, Adam walked out of the building.
Diagon Alley wasn't as busy as usual, yet you'd never find it deserted. The afternoon was rather gray and windy and Adam had to button up his jacket as he walked down the stony path flanked by colorful shops of all kind. The young man wanted desperately to get home and take a long overdue nap that could undoubtedly last a few years. In less than a week he'd be setting out again on a mission to Croatia which didn't excite him quite as others normally did. Croatia, really? What was there to see there? It's fucking Croatia. He would have much preferred to go with the other team to Morocco again. It had been fun. But the nap would have to be postponed just for a little longer as he still needed to replace some pieces of equipment which had been damaged on the last journey. He was already there in Diagon Alley, best to get it over with.
Adam lit up a cigarette as he walked down the large street, his feet decisively, although now more slowly, moving to a shop that was still a few meters away that specialized in the articles of Defense Against the Dark Arts. On his way he stumbled upon Quality Quidditch Supplies and decided to stop at the window, standing right behind a small blond child who, like him, was admiring the broomsticks behind it. There wasn't anything really that Adam needed from that place but it was still nice to watch whenever he passed it. After a minute or so of window shopping, he stepped away from the glass without really paying attention as he made to retake his way down the Alley and accidentally bumped hard into someone who had obviously been in a hurry.
His cigarette fell to the floor.

After fnishing a days worth of work at the ministry October felt it nessicary to call it a day and go somewhere exciting. Or at least semi-exciting. She grabbed her black coat and purse from off the sofa in her office and made her way towards Diagon Alley. It was one of the busiest and colorful places she could think of at the moment plus she really needed to pick up a few things and what better place then Diagon Alley? October walked out of her office and shut the door silently behind her. She wasn't sure if she wanted anyone to know where she was going and sneaking out made it all the more fun. Walking down the ministry's hall as quietly as possible she walked toward the large chimneys there. It was the best and the fastest way to to get from place to place in her opinion.
Once she reached a chimney she grabbed Floo powder from a large bowl next to it and walked inside. She poke in a clear voice, "Diagon Alley," then dropped the floo powder onto the chimney floor. Engulfed in green flames she was transported to her destination and smiled. Diagon Alley was just as alive and colorful as her last visit with many witches, wizards, and magical creatures of all sorts. A few people greated october as they passed by. The shops were full of people and magical items. There were clothing stores, wands, animals, sweets. Everything just amaized her each time she came. Although she wasn't all to sure as to why it did, but oh well. She started heading toward the student shops. There were uniforms galore as well as starter wands and quidditch supplies. The uniforms looked very nice and stylish and it kinda made her wish she had a uniform. Laughing at the thought she turned around to fave the quidditch supplies just in time to notice a man bump into someone and drop his cigarette.
She hurried toward him to make sure he was alright. He seemed a bit upset about the cigarette so she reached into her purse and pulled out a fresh box of cigarettes and a small black lighter. She opened the box ad pulled two out. October handed one to the man and smiled as she spoke. "I know how pissed I get when I drop mine." She placed a cigarette in her mouth and lit it up. Letting out a small puff of smoke out her mouth in the shape of an "O". "I wasn't really aware that anyone could smoke here besides myself. Although it's probably to be expected I suppose."
sorry it's rather short

Adam could do nothing but stare at his unfinished stick of a friend slowly consume itself on the ground at his feet, not without regret and a little annoyance. After a second or two he lifted his head, resigned and ready to move on, only to find that a feminine hand was stretching a new fag out to him. Adam looked at it and then up at the gentleperson to check if it was actually for him and not some sort of strange mockery. It was, in fact, for him and it was a young woman with Asian features who offered it. With a big smile, Adam took it and lit it as she spoke. He let out the smoke of the first drag.
"I wasn't really aware that anyone could smoke here besides myself. Although it's probably to be expected I suppose."
"Well, Miss Good Samaritan, I'm just glad we crossed paths today." He replied sincerely. And then it occurred to him that it was a rare occurrence that any citizen of London would share a cigarette, much less to a stranger. These sort of courtesies didn't come very often. An outsider surely (although maybe she was just plain weird).
"Though now I owe you, you know?" He suddenly said, with ease. "Maybe I can repay you somehow?" usually only 'first posts' are longish ^^

"Though now I owe you, you know? Maybe I can repay you somehow?"
Usually october did things just to help peope and never asked for anything in return. Athough now she was tempted to take him up on the offer but decided not to. October gave him a confused yet happy look as she spoke. "oh no you don't have to do anything..." Her stomach let out a small growl and it made her blush a bit. In an unintenshional reflex she placed her arms over her stomach. "Well, if you want you can have a cup of coffie and a bite to eat with me or something. Although I'm not all too sure if they even sell coffie nor food here. Cearly I'm new around here." October quietly laughed at herself for a moment.
"Oh, I'm October. October Delacour, I'm the new minister of magic." She said in a sort of upbeat yet embaressed voice. "What's your name?" It wasn't very cold outsde for october. Mst people were wearing heavy clothing. but october was dressed in a white colored summer dress and thin jacket. Some people passing by staired at her in disbelief, but she just smiled. "So...How about it?"
